The owner of this belt had lost some weight, so wanted it making a little shorter.

He bought it in Australia and we think it’s made from kangaroo skin – a very durable leather with properties similar to horseskin.

The design on this belt was really interesting, with the buckle being held on in an unusual way, and the end with the holes as a separate piece sewn on.

I removed the end with the holes and re-positioned it.

The plaque needed removing too. The build of verdigris was quite amazing, so I cleaned this off before repositioning it.

All done and returned to the owner.
